Have you read a really great book? Or has a teacher made you read a really rubbish book? Why not write and tell us about it?

Who's your favourite writer? Is it William Shakespeare? Charles Dickens? Enid Blyton? JK Rowling? JRR Tolkein? or perhaps Francesca Simon? Why not write and share with the world what you like about them?

When I was young I loved Enid Blyton. My teachers told me Enid Blyton wrote rubbish books and they would harm my education. I went on to be a professional writer for grown ups!

My Worse Writer

Not all grown ups agree on what is good writing. I once had to read a book by Gerald Durrell called "My Family and Other Animals", it was awful! It was boring and badly written. So my worse writer is Gerald Durrell. I'll also point out that I think Ted Hughes, who everyone else thinks is a fantastic poet, I think is total rubbish. While I think William Blake is brilliant!

My Best Writer

Stories should be fun and exciting. Not hard work. So my best author has to be Enid Blyton. She wrote books that children find easy to read, and are fun to read. As you get older, I'll recommend Charles Dickens. Not the abridged versions, but the full stories. Mostly these are for grown ups, because they have a lot of violence in them. Oliver Twist is definitely not a story for young children, but for teenagers it rocks!
